Dear, Henry

Oh, Henry,

You’re so fly and so cool

You delegate and walk and talk and glide and stride

You leave your family without any food to provide

The people ask you “WHY?! How could you be so backwards inside?”

The young boy goes to hide and disguise the cards he’s been dealt for the ride

The people cry as he dances with the dark sins behind

Behind the curtain the light will glow like a hollow beam though we’re blind

Blind to compassion and an unconditional love like the Father told us

Because our earthly father will always fail and love seems to disappear like a cold gust

Generation to generation we step and trod and gloat and nod and approve and shout and control and doubt

Dear Henry, I love you despite your transgressions

Dear Henry, I miss you although I repress it

Dear Henry, come back, oh, please, my father, don’t let it

Dear Henry, you’re stronger and don’t ever forget it

Dear Henry, I’ll give you my love as long as you let it
